
Professor Dr Diamant Thaçi graduated in 1989 with a medical degree, and went on to specialize in dermatology and venereology in 1995 at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Professor Thaçi has held the roles of Senior Consulting Specialist in dermatology, Director of Clinical Research and Head of Photodermatology Division from 1997-2011. In 2011 he was appointed as Associate Professor of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main Germany. Since 2013, Professor Thaçi has served as a director and university professor at the Institute and Comprehensive Center Inflammation Medicine University of Lübeck, Germany. Professor Thaçi’s research experience covers immunological work in basic research and all stages of clinical drug development from Phase I in vitro studies to Phase IV post-marketing studies. He has been involved in numerous investigator-driven trials, and acted as the main investigator in large numbers of national and international multicentre trials. In addition to his clinical commitments, Professor Thaçi lectures on dermatology, cross-section immunology/microbiology and has published numerous articles. Professor Thaçi has been a recipient of the Theodor-Stern Foundation Award for excellent clinical research.
